Example of winning ideas
Some fantastic ideas were bid for, some winning examples were:
- A kite decorating and flying day: an opportunity for both schools in the village to come together in a shared fun activity.
- The start up of Armoy Gazette: a local newsletter to keep the village in the loop of local happenings.
- Litter-picking kits for children to designate an area to look after and become members of North Coast World Earth.
- Activity packs and resources to help a social group supporting adults with additional needs.
- Picnic benches and summer seats for the village.
Top three tips from the organisers
- Keep the application form as informal and short as possible.
- Build as much momentum as possible during the bidding time frame and lead up to voting, keep posting on social media and talking about the process and encourage others to do the same.
- Get key people involved: people that know the PB process well as well as people you want to influence.
Lastly, it is much easier and more fluid the second time round. You have the first PB to learn and grow from and your audience know the process too
