Community Planning

As part of the support package, Community Places organised and facilitated a symposium open to all Community Planning partners.

This Toolkit is for practitioners in Community Planning. It has been developed as part of Carnegie UK “Embedding Wellbeing in NI” Project which provided financial and in-kind support to three Community Planning Partnerships to implement a wellbeing approach in their practice.

This section of the Toolkit focuses on how the CVS (Community and Voluntary Sectors) can work with and influence other sectors in effective ways.

This section of the Toolkit: Explains the logic of an outcomes-based approach; Suggests how it should be applied to Community Planning; and Provides tools and pointers to good practice.

This section of the Toolkit: introduces and explains Community Planning; focuses on its distinctive qualities; explains what the legal duties will be in the region; gives examples of Community Planning in action; outlines the support communities need; and presents the types of skills and knowledge needed for Community Planning.

This section of the toolkit provides guidance on the issues to consider when planning and designing community engagement.

Ways in which services and activities can be better coordinated across the public, community and voluntary sectors, to their mutual benefit, within the context of Community Planning.

Impacts of Infrastructure Development on an Inner-City Community.

A report by Community Places for the Ashton Health and Wellbeing Department on environmental actions to improve health and safety conditions of the Barrack area of New Lodge for all residents and visitors.

A Local Place Shaping exercise took place in New Mossley bringing together key stakeholders from the public, community, voluntary and private sectors to work together to identify and explore existing assets within the area and how these can be maximised in the future.

This Guide focuses on how community planning partnership bodies can apply the principles of co-production in carrying out their functions.
